Once an ammonia refrigeration system has over 10,000 lb. capacity both OSHA and the EPA get involved. These agencies require preparedness plans known as OSHA's PSM (Process Safety Management) and the EPA's RMP (Risk Management Plan). Fines routinely dished out by these regulatory entities can be excessive and rarely reduced or forgiven. At SIC we have witnessed fines of up to $250k and a one year window for compliance corrections before fines are doubled. These situations can be difficult to manage to say the least.
We actively assist our clients with their regulatory needs in these three specific areas: Pipe Coating to IIAR Color Specification, Pipe Markers/Labels and Valve Tagging. With extensive experience in both coatings and Ammonia Systems, we are in a unique position allowing us to provide customers with unprecedented cost and quality control. Owing our own marking equipment and having the ability to bring it on site gives us extensive versatility over other companies. All SIC employees are OSHA trained and certified. Bottom line we can do it better, cheaper, and safer than other companies!
